Is planning a wedding feeling a little bit much right now? Confused by all the choice of suppliers? I thought I would put together a list of my recommended people. I know how important it is to like the people that you employ to help at your wedding and so here’s a few people that I have a lot of time for…
Ever thought about getting married in a cemetry? No? Shocking! Me either!!! Well until I visited the chapels at Arnos Vale a few weeks ago. Set among the grounds of the well known Arnos Vale Cemetry are two chapels. One which has been registered for Anglican weddings and the other is registered for civil services so it covers all bases. The grounds are beautiful and well looked after with plenty of places for stunning photography. Take a look at their website and give them a shout soon about viewing it as currently their prices are very competitive but I don’t think this will last long. They also have a very good caterer who can cater to any style or budget, so well worth the consideration.
The Riverstation is another lovely Bristol venue which has recently caught my attention for somewhere different to get married. It’s stylish and intimate and what’s more you can arrive by boat! Brilliant!!! Michelle and Sally are the lovely ladies who would help your day go smoothly. Take a look at the Riverstation website or Michelle’s blog for everything wedding
When it comes to flowers look no further than Rachel at The Rose Shed. Her flowers are modern yet classic and having seen many many different flowers over the years I have to say her flowers really have caught my eye. Rachel is very approachable and I’m sure she would be happy to discuss your budget and build something to suit you. Take a look at her beautiful website
Chosing a photographer I feel is a really big decision (sorry don’t want to panic you) but these pictures will be with you forever and I think it’s the one thing you shouldn’t scrimp on. Chose a photographer because you really like their work not because of the price.
Neil from Neil Pollock Photography I feel ticks all boxes when it comes to a great wedding photographer. He’s friendly and funny and would without a doubt get on with you and your guests, which in turn means happy and relaxed photos from your day! His style is artistic but classic. Take a look at his website for examples of his work, I’m sure you’ll agree it’s stunning!
I know many people toy over whether to have wedding favours. They’re an extra expense and maybe one you can do without? Personally I would think again! Wedding favours can be the talking point your guests need to break the ice. Plus it’s lovely to be able to take something home that your guests will always associate with the fun they had at your wedding . For some inspiration have a look at Through the Looking Glass. They bring unique, stylish, hand crafted favours to match any budget and promise that if there’s something you want that you can’t see then they will do their best to find it for you.In most cases the favours can be personalised therefore they can act as place settings too – kill two birds with one stone!! Go on take a look, I guarantee you’ll find something that will catch your eye!
Does making your wedding venue look pretty fill you with dread? Are you terrified your day won’t run smoothly? Then Kirsten Butler aka The Little Wedding Helper is your fairy godmother! Kirsten has a wonderful eye for detail, she can make even the most dull of venues look like a fairytale wedding setting. She can also be that person on your day that helps everything run smoothly. The last thing you want to worry about is flowers and candles, let Kirsten do it for you! What’s more she’s blooming lovely too!
Do you like pretty sparkly things? Then you’ve got to visit Amanda and her staff at Bridezillas in Keynsham. They cover all bases when it comes to accessories. From shoes to tiaras, to jewellery and gifts for ushers and bridesmaids they’ve got it all. If you’re a magpie like me then you won’t be able to stop browsing their very vast range of tiaras and headbands. Plus visit on a Saturday and you might just be able to have a nosey at a wedding as their shop is right opposite the village church – winner!!!
There are so many more people I could talk about but I might have to save that for another day!
