Nikki rang me earlier this year looking for someone to do her make-up for her Exmoor wedding in April. The ceremony was being held at Little Quarme Cottages on Exmoor and the lovely Mai who runs the place passed her my name. As I’m an Exmoor girl at heart I jumped at the chance to do her make-up. Nikki now lives in Essex so coordinating meeting up was going to be a little tricky but thankfully she was very helpful and keen to come to me so we put the wheels in motion and soon enough she had secured her place in my diary.
Nikki came to me for her trial, which is quite unusual as most people like me to travel to them. So on the morning I got up bright and early and prepared a tranquil space (ignoring the traffic outside as I live on a busy high street!!) for her to chat to meet and relax in whilst we worked through her trial. Nikki was keen to look like her but a much more polished version. She described her cornflower coloured flowers and bridesmaid dresses and the intricate detail on her dress. All these elements helped me pull together a look of soft pinks and mauves with a slight element of shimmer. She decided on a couple of individual false eyelashes to open up her eyes and add a little element of glamour without being over the top. Upon reflection a few days later she decided she wanted brown eyeliner instead of black to make the look a little softer and less striking. I loved the fact that she felt she could tell me this. At the end of the day its her day and I wanted her to feel relaxed and happy with me and what I was doing, and hopefully that’s how she felt too.
This is Nikki on her wedding day. A timeless look that teamed perfectly with her stunning dress. Nikki has great skin so a simple wash of mineral powder foundation was all that was needed. I’ll list all products used below.

Nikki’s bridesmaids wore beautiful cornflower coloured dresses. I teamed a cream eyeshadow and very dark mauve shade in the corners to enhance the look. The eyeshadow used is Estee Lauder eyeshadow duo in Vanilla Pods.
Nikki had a vision and it really worked. A truly stunning wedding and a pleasure to be a part of!
